Who I Am
Hello friends. My name is Darren. I am a Seattle-based singer/songwriter on piano and vocals. I play with five incredibly talented instrumentalists on drums, bass, cello, violin and horns, and sing with two phenomenal vocalists for harmonies and counter-melodies. Collectively - and also as a solo artist - I am The Small Kingdoms, inspired by artists such as Agnes Obel, Tori Amos, James Blake, Emmit Fenn, Syml, Glen Hansard, Ólafur Arnalds, Ben Howard, and many more. The genre-defying music emanates a lush elegance and rich depth superimposed with powerful lyrics, radiant harmonies, and stirring melodies.
